Day : 1 - Toy train ride to Shimla

We start by picking you up from the airport, which hopefully you can make an early arrival to get the best out of the day. The trip is made quite interesting by including a stretch of the Unesco heritage Toy train ride to the ever popular hill station of Shimla. On the way from Nahan to Shimla we shall be stopping at Solan railway station from where you will do the leg of 50 km train ride to Shimla up the hills in the world famous toy train. The train ride takes about 2.5 hours and you should reach Shimla by about 4.30 PM. The car will follow you and reach Shimla to receive you by the time you come out of the railway station in Shimla. The rest of the evening you can spend around the Mall road and parts of Shimla. Shimla is a very busy and popular tourist spot since it is one among the closest hill getaways from Chandigarh and Delhi and hence it can get quite crowded. Due to this reason we shall not extend our stay in Shimla city beyond this day of the trip.

Day : 2 - Shimla to Prini

On day 2 we shall brace ourselves for a whole day road trip from Shimla to Prini in Manali. The drive is long but very pretty so that you dont get bored of the sights. You shall have lovely river views almost the entire stretch of the road and en route we pass through the Kulu Valley to reach Prini just before Manali.

Day : 3 - Activity packed Manali

Day 3 will be an activity packed day in and around Manali. Depending on the spare time we have and depending on the time of the year we are traveling we can squeeze in a visit to Rohtang pass set at an elevation of 400 meters above sea level it is about 2 hours drive from Manali. If we are making this trip during the summer time we still have chance to experience some snow in Rohtang Pass, if we miss it in Manali. Rohtang pass enjoys snowfall 9 months in an year and there is high chance that we can still come across some snow at most time of the year we go there. Other than the plan we have already enough activities planned up for Manali, the star activity being a spectacular Paragliding trip enjoying the magnificent Himalayan views. Also lined up for the day is an array of activities at the Solang valley depending on the time of the year we travel, and if there is enough snow it can include Skiing and Snow scooter ride. But across the year we shall be able to enjoy the chair lift ropeway across Solang valley and the paragliding activity.

Day : 4 - Dharamshala, Macleod Ganj

Halt H1 - MacLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh

Activities - Monastery Visit and Bhagsunag Falls

On day 4 we set out on another whole day drive to MacLeod Ganj region in Dharamshala. The drive is a bit of a long haul but it is spectacular passing through the more greener patches in the Mountain range at this part of Himalayas. Just the sights on the way will be enough to keep you engaged during this long drive. En route we shall take a short trek to reach the beautiful Bhagsunag falls. While in Macleod Ganj we shall visit the Namgyal Buddhist monastery.

Day : 5 - Dalhousie and Khajjar

On Day 5 we set out on a 4 hour drive from MacLeod Ganj to Khajjar which is called the Mini Switzerland of India, with its wide expanse of green meadows. On the way we shall pass through Dalhousie town. At Khajjar we have lined up quite a few activities including horse ride and nature walk. After visiting Khajjar we shall head to Kalatop wild life sanctuary area another popular spot around Dalhousie.

Day : 6 - Some Historic sites

Day 6 being our last leg on the hills we shall visit some historic sites and stay in pleasant Palampur region. The entire drive for the day should be in the region of 6 hours and with the stop overs we can expect it to take the whole day so we can make hope to make an early start from Khajjar. Our first stop would be the Kangra fort. The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra. Our second stop would be at Baijnath Temple a Hindu temple situated in a small town of Baijnath. It was built in 8th Century by two local merchants and it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. By late afternoon we shall return to Palampur town region and we shall have enough time to explore it.

Day : 7 - Chandigarh City beautiful

On day 7 we shall leave the hills behind and drive down to the plains to reach Chandigarh, otherwise called the city beautiful. Chandigarh is the first planned city of India and it is the capital city of 3 states, Punjab, Haryana and it is a union territory by itself. On reaching Chandigarh we will still be left with some time explore this beautiful city, and we can hope to cover the best parts of the city.

Day : 8 - A bit more of Chandigarh

On the last day of the trip we can explore a bit more of Chandigarh city, before setting out to airport according to the time of your return flights.
