On Day 1 of the trip, we shall pass through Mangalore city and drive further south to enter Kerala state and onto the Northernmost district Kasargod of Kerala. Kasargod is a district that is famous for its serene beaches, forts, and other places of historical importance as we intend to touch through some among them to make it memorable for you. Our first stop would be at the Sri Anandapadmanabhaswamy temple, a very interesting lake temple in the region, which is famous for the Crocodile that is supposed to be guarding the temple. The crocodile is called 'Babiya' and it is strictly a Vegetarian Crocodile, that lives on the offerings from the temple. Babiya is extremely friendly with people, and it surfaces up from the pond when someone calls its name. From the temple we make our way to Kasargod town, where we shall visit the famous Malid Dinar Masjid. Built in the typical Kerala style, the historic Malik Ibn Deenar Masjid is believed to have been founded by Persian scholar and traveller Malik Ibin Deenar. It is one among the very first Masjids in the country only after the Cheraman Perumal Masjid, which is also established by Malid Dinar, in Kodungallur in central Kerala region. The mosque is also the mausoleum of the Scholar. A visit inside this mosque will present you with the marvelous ancient architectural style and the ornamental decorations from the era. After that we shall head further south to visit the famous, Bekal Fort, where this massive structure of a fort extends out to the beautiful Arabian sea, giving stunning views of the ocean around. The fort is fairly well kept and makes it worthy of a short peek into its history of it especially for the views of Arabian sea from it. After visiting the fort we shall The Fort has been featured in the Tamil movie 'Bombay', and it's where the famous song 'Uyare' has been shot. After Bekal we shall take the beach road and head south towards Nileshwar where we shall check into a beautiful Beachfront resort, for you to relax and enjoy the crisp Arabian sea at close and for the whole of the afternoon.

On Day 2 we shall head out of the resort just before lunchtime and head south and stop by at a beautiful lake side traditional restaurant called 'Kanjikkada'. The place is quite famous in the region for its fish delicacies and rice gruel meals in the traditional manner. After lunch we shall head further south towards Payyanur town, where we shall have a quick tour of Payyanur town and then head towards the Kavvayi backwaters region. On reaching Kavvayi we shall be ferried across the lake to reach our resort, a remote lakeside abode. Towards late afternoon we shall go on a Kayaking expedition across the mangroves in Kavvayi backwaters and stop by at a very secluded island called the Coconut island in the middle of the backwaters. Towards sunset, we shall head back to the Kavvayi beach, a virgin beach just in front of our resort from where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. This stay and evening is sure to becpome an unforgettable experience in this trip for you.

Day : 3 - To the Hills of North Malabar

On Day 3 of our trip after breakfast, we shall leave our lovely backwater resort and head East from Payyannur towards the hills of the region. We shall be driving to Paithalmala, which is set at an altitude of over 1350 meters above sea level, to get the feel of the hills in the region. The drive from Payyanur to Paithalmala should take approximately about 1 and half hours, which means we should be able to reach the resort well by about lunchtime. After lunch, we can check into the resort where you can relax for the afternoon. By about 4 PM we can set out from the resort for a hike across to the beautiful waterfalls and the Paithalmala viewpoint which can be reached only by a short trek. The trek is a short one and not very strenuous but the views are amazing and very rewarding for the effort. After the trek by late afternoon, we can return to the resort where you can relax for the rest of the evening and night, in the chill of nature and the quietness of the forests around.

Day : 4 - An amazing route to Mangalore

On Day 4 after breakfast, we shall set out on a lovely 3.5 -hour drive to reach Mangalore through the hills of North Malabar region. Our drive should take us through the famous Malom and Ranipuram hills and wildlife sanctuary in Kasargode district En route we shall also pass through the Achankallu waterfalls and Chilluthodu waterfalls where you can have a relaxing bath in the falling waters. The drive is of an extremely relaxed nature and we can afford to stop at all the beautiful scenic points on the way and we should still reach our resort in Mangalore just before late afternoon. On reaching our resort which is set by a lovely beach, you can have a relaxed evening by the beach and a good rest at the lovely little resort.

Day : 5 - A tour of Mangalore
On Day 5 the last day of the trip after break fast we shall set out to leave towards Mangalore and there on to the airport. On the way we can have a good city tour of Mangalore city. Mangalore is a large city, in fact it is the second largest city in Karnataka state after Bangalore and it is the most major port city of the state. Mangalore is a popular city for students owing to a large number of medical and engineering colleges in and around the city. Students from all over the country make this city their second home, and as a result the city has a very vibrant vibe to it. While in Mangalore we can enjoy a traditional Mangalore style fish thali lunch and then we can set out towards the airport which is situated just outside the city towards its north, for you to catch your return flights home.
