Kumarakom is a charming little village, sitting on one of the largest expanses of the lake, and situated just about 10 km northwest of Kottayam town.

---1) Head East towards the hills of Kerala, passing through the plantation belt of Kerala. On the way we pass through various plantations of the region primarily Rubber and Pineapple. The Rubber plantations on the way form a thick green canopy on the road.
---2) Entry into Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve, and go on a safari Boat ride in the periyar lake with in the national park. Chances for spotting wildlife are purely on luck, but sightings of Deer, Elephants, and Bisons are quite common.
---3) Check into Hills & Hues Resort in Thekkady, an upscale 5-star resort in the region. Thekkady is famous as the gateway to the Periyar wildlife reserve which is also a tiger sanctuary. Thekkady is just 5 kilometers away from the plantation produce and spice trade town of Kumily, the last point in Kerala state before the road opens out to the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. The town of Kumily is the best spot on the trip for shopping for Kerala spices.

On Day 5
---1) After breakfast and leave for our next destination, Munnar, known as the queen of hills in India.
---2) Munnar is a delightful 4-hour drive through the western ghat mountain ranges of Kerala. Munnar is the highest point in the Western ghat mountain range and it is the highest point in India, south of the Himalayas. The elevation of Munnar ranges from 1600 meters above sea level to 2700 meters above sea level at its highest reaches. Munnar enjoys very pleasant weather throughout the year and during the winter nights, the temperatures even touch zero and subzero levels in the mercury. Munnar is famous for its picturesque tea plantations and lakes and high hills.
---3) On reaching Munnar we can optionally have an offroad sunset drive to Kolukkumalai, the highest tea plantation in the world. The drive can be done only by an offroad vehicle and it passes through some of the most difficult roads stretches to reach Kolukkumalai a point of stunning natural beauty. A narrow 2-meter-wide ridge on top of the high mountains, separates the mountain ranges into eastern and western parts of it, with the Easter part of it falling in Tamil Nadu state and the western part of it falling in Kerala state. We can catch up with the spectacular views of the sunset from this vantage point.
---4) Stay at a luxurious resort close to Kolukkkumalai jeep safari point, which is acclaimed to have the best views in the whole of South India, right from your balconies.

Day : 5 - A day in Munnar
Day 5
---1) The entire day is spent visiting spots across Munnar. A scenic drive through the lake district of Munnar towards Top station road is a must-do activity. The chance to spot Wild elephants on the way is almost a sure thing. Optionally you can also do boating in the lake and do an elephant ride.
---2) Also on the list can be visiting Eravikulam National Park, which forms a part of the Anaimudi peak, the highest point in India south of the Himalayas. The endangered species of goat which is a cross between a deer and mountain goat, called Niligi Thahr can be found roaming the hills sides of Eravikulam national park. Eravikulam national park also has other wildlife such as Elephants, leopards, and tigers.

Day : 6 - The Athirapally waterfalls
On Day 6
---1) We shall descend the high ranges of Munnar towards Kochi and take a detour on the way to head towards a thickly forested region to reach the spectacular Athirapally waterfalls. Athirapally waterfalls are the largest waterfalls in Kerala. It is a set of waterfalls that are formed as the river Chalakudi falls down the hill to a valley below where the river continues its journey. The waterfall is a perennial waterfall, though it is at its most might during the monsoons.
2) At Athirapally we shall check into The Rainforest, a luxurious 5-star resort, from where you can have fabulous views of the waterfalls right from your rooms.
