Day : 1 - The lost land of Lavasa

On day 1 we pick you up from Pune Airport or Pune local and head to Lavasa hill station. Lavasa is a planned city built based on the Italian town Portofino, with a street and several buildings bearing the name of that town. Lavasa is just about 60 kms from Pune and it can be reached in about 2 hours of pleasant drive from the city. The attractions of Lavasa is mainly centered around the Lake of Lavasa. We plan to reach Lavasa just before lunch time so you can have lunch from Lavasa and check into the hotel and spend the afternoon by exploring the wonderland of Lavasa. Lavasa is largely quite now, so we can also enjoy boating in Lavasa lake to enjoy the experience in absolute serenity.

Day : 2 - And we hit the coast

On the second day we leave from Lavasa after breakfast to hit the coast towards Murud. The drive is about 5 hours and we hope to reach Murud by afternoon. The biggest attraction of this drive being the drive down the ghats and the fabulous Murud Janjira fort. Murud-Janjira Fort is situated on an oval-shaped rock off the Arabian Sea coast near the port city of Murud. It is considered as one of the strongest marine forts in India. The fort is approached by sailboats from Rajapuri jetty. After visiting the fort we shall drive around the coast line towards the Velar beach, which is famous for its turtles on the beach. We shall check into our seaside resort after we finish the activities for the day.

Day : 3 - What views.. phew!!

On day 3 we head off from the coast towards the hills again. The drive to Raigad fort is about 2 hours form Murud beach and the scenery is amazing as we head up the hills from the coast. Raigad is one of the strongest fortresses on the Deccan Plateau. It was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj when he made it his capital in 1674. In Raigad we can take the rope-way to reach the fort and to enjoy the views from high above. From Raigad we set towards the most famous hill station in the state Mahabaleshwar. The scenery is fabulous and we head to Arthur seat in Mahabaleshwar for stopping over for the spectacular view of the mighty western ghat mountains.

Day : 4 - Kaas Valley

Paachgani is a hill station situated at an elevation of about 1300 Meters above sea level. It was developed by the British during the British Raj as a summer resort. Paachgani was developed as a retirement place because the climate remained pleasant throughout the year. Panchgani being centrally located in the hill region of Satara, it can be made a good base to visit the locales around. We plan to stay back in Panchgani for 2 days and visit all the attractions around the region, so that we can return to the same hotel and it avoids the need for you to pack up your bags for the following 2 days. On this day we plan to set out towards further south from Panchgani visiting the famous lakes in the region and the beautiful Kaas plateau. The region is the most region of Maharashtra state and we plan to cover the best of it in the 2 days that we have. First we shall head to Kaas Plateau otherwise knows as the Valley of flowers south of Himalayas. The Kaas plateau region has stunning visuals especially during the monsoon time. It is a trekkers delight and we have enough time to reach there during the first half of the day itself and for you to explore the place at your ease. From Kaas valley by afternoon we can head towards the lake district region of Maharashtra to cover the Tapola lake and the regions around. Tapola is the perfect place for a boating and you can do just that while you are there. After Tapola we can head back towards Mahabaleshwar by taking in the vistas of Taldeo on the way. From Mahabaleshwar we can make our way up to Panchgani again to the resort.

Day : 5 - Satara Region

On day 5 we head out to explore the region more, especially around the Dhom lake region. For that first we head to discover the Kenjalgad fort. The drive to Kenjalgad is beautiful and to explore the fort region it involves a bit of trekking. We shall leave it to your choice if you are in a mood for some trek. From Kenjalgad we shall drive around the Dhom lake to reach back the Wei village. From there we head back to Panchgani to visit 2 famous points of Panchgani. It is the Sydney point and the Harrisons Folly. Both the view points offer spectacular views of the mountains around.

On day 6 we leave the hills and head back to Pune. The 100 km drive to Pune takes approximately 2 hours only and we should reach back just in time to catch with some lunch and check you into your hotel. After freshening up we can head out for a little city tour of Pune city. Pune is the 7th largest city in India and it is truly a vibrant city to explore. Pune is famous for its markets, night life and eateries.
